We are a new group in Atomic, Molecular, and Optical physics at Columbia. We plan to move into the lab on the 6th floor of Pupin Hall in the summer of 2008.
The research in our group will center on ultracold atoms and molecules in optical lattices. Cold atoms trapped in these optical interference patterns present exciting opportunities for simulating defect-free crystals, building cold molecules, and performing precision measurements of optical clock transitions, fundamental constants, and micron-scale forces in a clean, protected environment. We use many different skills including optics, electronics, ultrahigh vacuum and other techniques.
Student and postdoc positions can become available at any time; please contact us.
